Cache County Fair 2010

WOW! What a wonderful fair it was this year. We all had so much fun and were all very much involved with all the many projects we had going. It all started with Monday night, pen set up, then came Wednesday, weigh in and the kick off for the fair. Ty's lambs this year weighted in at 173 and 127 lbs. I know the one was huge. Ty picked his own lambs this year and he went for the biggest one, but he has also learned that the biggest one doesn't always mean the best. There names were Livestock (the big one) and Dorkus. He had so much fun again and Virgil helped him raise the lambs and train them again this year. Trisha and Sarah also showed there horses in Freestyle Reining on Wend. night and Trish did Mulan and Sarah did Tarzan. They both did great and we love coming to see them perform. Thursday was the market class for sheep. Ty placed 4th and 5th in his classes and got blue ribbons. He did well and was pleased with were they placed. That night Ty got to go to Pre Rodeo Games and ride the serpentine in the rodeo. This year again I Flagged at the Rodeo, which is fun and cool that me and Ty both get to be in the rodeo together. Friday is the crazy day for us, we start at 9:00 am with horse shows, Shadie and Maggie were both in lead line, Shadie on Fletcher, and Maggie on Fred. Then Waylon was in walk/trot 5-6 year olds and placed 3rd on Old Red. Virgil was in walk/trot 7-8 year olds and placed 4th on Spud. Ty showed Dorkus in Showing and Fitting and placed 2nd in his class and went back for Grand Showman in the Jr. Division, he placed 10th out of 23 kids and he was very pleased with that. Ty also showed Freestyle Reining with Kurt this year and had a blast, his song this year was "The Devil Went Down To Georgia". He was dressed half like the Devil and half like Johnny. It was so cool and his new horse Kurt did very well, he placed 6th out of 13 and had a blast. That night Jared drove the Parade of Champions through the Rodeo and I flagged again, and we took all the kids to the rodeo that night with Jared's and my side of the families. Saturday was the big SALE, Ty sold his big lamb (Livestock) and did really well, Ty likes to help out with the sale, so he was able to purchase a young man's lamb and help support a 4-H kid. We took the kids to the Carnival (yaah) and let them ride a few rides, always fun but expensive!! Trisha & Sarah showed there horses in many events but once again in Free Style Reining, Trisha did Mulan again but did it Bridal-less (very cool), and Sarah did Bareback Jake (bareback, it was awesome). That night I flagged again (all 3 nights and didn't fall off once), and then Jared, I and Roanie all went to the Rodeo together, kind of a date night. Grandma Marilyn, Lane & Jared were presented an honorary award in behalf of Grandpa Dean at the rodeo that night, it was very touching and really made us think about how much Grandpa helped accomplished here in Cache Valley, and for the Cache County Fair and Rodeo. We sure do miss him. Sunday the fair was over and Jared and I don't know whether to "Shout for Joy" or to "Cry", it is only once a year and is very stressful, but it goes by so fast. We will just have to be pushing for next year and start getting ready now. Sorry such a long post!
