THE STERR FAMILY

There is this very amazing family, that we have had the privilege to have moved in next door to about 3 1/2 years ago, here in Providence. We love all our neighbors, but we are very, very close to the Sterr Family. Troy, LaNae, Shane and Wayne are very special people to all of our family. On September 17, 2011, Troy was in a very serious motorcycle accident in the back country of Idaho. After a very long and strenuous rescue, Troy was life flighted to the IRMAC Hospital in Idaho Falls, ID. Soon after he had been delivered to Idaho Falls, they transported Troy & LaNae to University Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. Where he would undergo surgery to stabilize his back. The surgery went super well and Troy was on his way down a long road of recovery. While during all of this, Troy and LaNae's oldest son Shane was serving a mission in Brazil and was not due to come home until the middle of December. Through many prayers and much encouragement from his parents, Shane stayed in the mission field and came home in December. Their other son Wayne was scheduled to leave for his mission (Washington DC.) in October. Wayne, along with his parents, being strong and knowing the blessings that would be sent there way if he continued on his path, left as scheduled and entered the MTC in the middle of October. He is now out in the mission field in Washington and is really an awesome missionary. Troy has had a few set backs on his road to recovery but what surprises us the most about the Sterr Family is there attitude throughout this whole trial. Troy, LaNae and the boys have such strong testimonies of the gospel, of the fact that they are Children of God and that he loves them, Eternal Families and that you are never asked to go through these trials alone. Heavenly Father and Jesus are always there for us and did carry Troy, LaNae, Shane and Wayne through it all. Besides being an AMAZING family, they are the strongest, sweetest, funnest, happiest, patient, kindest, and most understanding people we have ever known. Our kids have gained an extra Uncle/Aunt and a few "Big Brothers". Shane and Wayne thank you for being such great examples to our children in so many ways. You guys truly give us someone to have our kids look up to and please know how much you are loved and treasured buy us all. Troy and LaNae, Jared and I can't ever thank you guys enough for the love, support and strength you give us in helping us raise our family. The kids love you both so much and hate having to go a day without seeing you both. No matter what mood they are in, I can say "Would you like to go visit Troy and LaNae" and they are off like a rocket. For me it is a blessing to know that they are close, safe, are some where they love to be, and they come home HAPPY!! That is a true testament to me that Christ's spirit resides in the Sterr home, and my children bring a little bit home with them every time they visit. Troy's recovery is going well and he has a personal goal to be able to return to work soon. LaNae is still as strong and beautiful as ever. She is supportive of her husband, works long days and is a nurturer to my six children along with her own two sons. Shane has now been home for 2 months. Besides returning to his post as BIG BROTHER to six very energetic kids, is going to school at USU and is AVAILABLE, but I'm sure, not for long. Wayne is in DC. and like we all new he would, is excelling in the mission field and loving every minute of it. We know he is where he needs to be right now but we all can't help that we miss him and are counting the days till he returns home. I know we have said it before and we WILL say it again, "that moving next door to the Sterr Family, WAS the best thing we could ever do for our family". Jared and I truly believe this and will always treasure the family/friendships that we have gained by knowing and being so close to the Sterr family. Troy, LaNae, Shane and Wayne "THANK YOU" for all you do and put up with, by having us as next door neighobrs. WE LOVE YOU ALL VERY, VERY MUCH AND KNOW WE ALWAYS WILL!!
